For the Second Year in a Row Matan Partners with Blessings in a Backpack to Feed Frederick’s Children

This past week, for the second year in a row, Matan employees partnered with Blessings in a Backpack to purchase, pack and distribute an entire weekends worth of food to all of Frederick Counties' participating schools.

The Matan volunteers packed approximately 30,000 food items into 2,991 food bags. The bags, which were filled with corn, Chef Boyardee, Cup of Noodles, cereal, crackers, oatmeal, sunflower seeds, pudding, fig bars, juice boxes and hand drawn positivity cards, were then packed up into bins and delivered to 21 local area schools.

The food was entirely purchased with money donated by Matan Companies and its employees. In total, $9,123 was donated to the Frederick, MD chapter.
