Matan Breaks Ground on Westview South Retail
Frederick, MD – October 14, 2015. Matan Companies, one of the region’s premier commercial real estate and development firms, announced today that it has broken ground on a new 20,750 square foot, two-building Class A retail project at its Westview South campus in Frederick.
The self-contained Westview South campus is a true ‘live, work, play’ environment, strategically located along the Route 85 Corridor with easy access to major interstates I-70 and I-270. Westview South is within walking distance of a thriving amenity base and offers a park-like setting with 31 acres of preserved green space and walking trails along Ballenger Creek.
The two-building in-line retail project, slated to deliver in early 2016, is the newest part of the ‘play’ portion of Westview South and is well suited for a wide variety of uses. Matan is in negotiations with several users and expects a varied tenant mix of food users and other soft retail.
“The vision for this project began many years ago and we couldn’t be more excited to see it coming to fruition with the start of the retail, opening of the hotel, and the beginning of construction on the Mitchell & Best residences,” said JP Matan, Director of Leasing for the Matan Companies. “And while the traction thus far is great, we have only just begun to scratch the surface of the project’s potential.”
Three other pad sites, which sit within the ‘play’ portion of the project, are also available. They are suited for users looking for a stand-alone presence on Route 85, with a more prominent identity, built to suit the specific users needs.
